Creature Comforts was founded in 1999 primarily as a housecall veterinary service. After 12 years of a housecall-only service, Dr. Miller built the Creature Comforts Veterinary Service location we all know today in 2010. We have been in our current building on Teut Road for the past six years, and today we are pleased to announce some exciting changes coming for 2017!
Over the course of the year, we will be renovating the clinic to include two new expansions. The first expansion will begin in late spring with the addition of a pet grooming salon. This salon is a separate business from the clinic and is run by an experienced groomer. Once the building is operational, information on how to make appointments will be released.
The second expansion will take place in late fall. This expansion will modify the structure and setup of the current clinic. Parking will be moved to the front of the building, where two separate entrances greet you—one for the regular clinic and one for our brand new animal rehabilitation center. Rehabilitation is something we feel strongly drawn to. From arthritis to injuries, pets benefit greatly from exercises that can provide stability and healing. Our staff will be attending certified rehabilitation courses this year in order to provide you with this service. We also plan to include an indoor swimming pool to help maintain or improve your pet’s mobility and muscle strength. Swimming is an excellent tool that can further promote your pet’s health and ease pain. Our certified veterinary rehabilitation staff will assist clients during free swim, training, and medical rehabilitation sessions. The winter months in Wisconsin often limit your pet’s ability to exercise. Swimming during this time presents an opportunity to exercise your pet and help decrease the need for rehabilitation as they age. More details will follow later this year, and an open house will be held once all the renovations are complete. We would love for you to come and tour our new facility!
In addition to the renovation, our monthly seminars have returned. Throughout 2017, different speakers are scheduled to host classes and workshops at our clinic. If you are interested in attending, please call the office at 262-534-9392. Some seminars require you to sign up in advance. There may also be a fee for some seminars.
